Equipment requirements:
J2534 Scanmatik SM2 Pro or SM3.
Bench connection requires an adapter with automatic power control.
A BitBox security dongle is required.
FID 577 — BMW/Mini: ECUs based on TC298/TC299 or SPC5777. Automatic Flash/EEPROM reading and writing with checksum correction, without opening or unlocking the ECU.
FID 582 — BSL unlocking: TC298/TC299 ECUs are unlocked using Voltage Glitch for subsequent BENCH operation. Flash/EEPROM reading and writing, automatic detection and checksum correction are supported.
BSL requires opening the ECU and soldering. Connect pin 13 through a Zener diode and capacitor as described in the manual, or use the BITS002 adapter.
